Fabulous – you’d be mad to buy anything else -Panasonic TH-42PX70 – 42 Widescreen Viera HD Ready Plasma TV

Had this TV for just over a week, all i can say is that it is awesome.

I considered many TV’s at this size (40″-42″), you have some compelling offerings from LCD with Sony and Samsung leading the way, and plasma with Panasonic, Samsung and Pioneer if you want to spend a little more money.

The big debates were as follows :

- Standard Definition TV.

Whilst new TV’s are in most cases HD ready, we all still watch standard definition unless we subscribe to Sky HD or the similar offering from Virgin. I had real concerns over whether a large screen could handle presenting this kind of picture well. All i can say is that this plasma produces great standard definitation pictures from my Sky+ box. Sky transmit better quality pictures for their main channels and lower quality for the fringe channels. BBC, ITV, Sky Sports etc delivers as good if not better pictures than my old 100Htz CRT picture. The other less know channels are not as good. My neighbour has a 40″ 1080p LCD which whilst good still has some blurring on standard definition and can look grained, which i understand is inherant with most LCD screens this size. Overall the plasma standard defination picture is excellent, it is worth noting that the terrestrial channels picture is better via the sky box than the embedded digital receiver in the plasma.

- To buy 1080p or HD Ready

O.K so 1080p TV’s are now readily available and mostly available at this size range via LCD offerings. I must have read every review going and could not help feel unsure whether or not i need a 1080p TV. I decided the following :

-1080p is only only going to give you value if you have or intend to own a BlueRay or HD-DVD player.
-1080p will be great for gaming via PS3.
-1080p TV’s are likely to give you poorer standard definition pictures because the need to artificially fill(create) so many more pixels worth of picture.

Given i will mostly watch Standard definition pictures via Sky for quite a few years and even then i understand Sky will not transmit pictures in 1080p, the decision to get the best picture for what i watch most was my deciding factor. I believe Plasma will offer the best standard definition viewing at this size rather than LCD, i have not been disapointed.

If you buy one of these plasma’s, you will not regret the rich blacks and colours, the sound to be fair could be slightly better. It is also capable of accepting native 1080p signal but downscale to fit it’s resolution, so in many respects you are still future proofing for connecting 1080p devices whilst not quite getting full 1080p visuals out of the TV.

I don’t think there is anything out there better for the money, at under ?1k it is a steal

Ok, let’s talk money, and how expensive is a home theater system HD. It could only in part, to movie stars and producers at home. Now, with all new devices on the market, it is possible for your home theater without spending millions.

The first point you need is the HDTV with a wide-screen format. The film was the boss of large format film other than a house to see. As we all know, the film allows panoramic views to listen deeply into the film experience. As a result, directors and cameramen, for scenes where the viewer throughout the visual field. HDTV and successfully strives to create an atmosphere of the film in the comfort of your own home. HDTV prices have changed since the first introduction, as well as other new electronic gadgets. This is an expensive investment.

Set at $ 2,000 or more. Depends on project size and complexity of plant and machinery in the series. A “viable” true HDTV costs between $ 1400 and $ 1800, again, very good for services, you can top $ 3000 screen is what you could have a significant influence on price. Some units may be the new flat-screen CRT, the other liquid crystal display or a projection of the longest diagonal. These prices are low. Price based on the price of advertising for $ 1000 to $ 1200 mark in the not too distant future.

Before you think that you may never be able to clean your HDTV and be able the benefits of many properties, there is another way you can digital broadcasts. You can use a set-top digital decoder, digital signals for what is possible on your TV. It is not as good or as strong as a true HDTV set, but even on a normal analog TV picture better than your TV. You will see that the images are of a DVD player, digital cable or satellite. Today, this institution box costs between $ 300 and $ 900. Industry sources tell us that these fields is less than $ 100 U.S. or cable television or satellite speakers.

Make sure that the research or the interview with a responsible seller, since there is a difference, if the digital formats are used. Many popular television stations with different formats. The industry is still a lack of form are still not what you buy today may not be with the cable in the future. It is suggested to have a separate HDTV decoder and another in a device, because the changes that have not yet.

Go to local dealers and get the seller to show the difference between the current analog TV, you can in relation to the new HDTV’s. You can also view the most recent DVD players or digital satellite stream. Do not be fooled into thinking you have a satellite system for enjoying HDTV. This is not true. We discovered that the hard way.

It ‘also possible video card with a DTV (Digital TV-Coder) tuner for your computer. It ‘true that the whole family can not rely on your computer monitor, but it can be HD on the computer screen for an investment of $ 299 to $ 499 You can see the difference between analog and digital HDTV technologies.

In addition to digital television decoder or a digital tuner module, you can use an external antenna, shipments in HDTV format. You can also use a small internal antenna, it’s on TV, but are not as effective. The cables are not needed to carry the digital signal, the local stations. Furthermore, this may change in future. What’s your local digital city in a station, you must have an internal antenna or external antenna, or connect your digital tuner.

Convert From Analog TV To HDTV

Switching from traditional analog television to HDTV, or high definition television, is not as simple as plugging in a TV set and calling the cable company. Changing over to high definition can be confusing because there are many options. Do you need to convert? This is how to leave your analog behind.

To get connected in the world of high definition television, you must first purchase an HDTV-ready or an HDTV capable television. There are several to choose from. Rear projection, plasma and LCD are all types of HDTV. When a television is labeled as HDTV-ready that means the TV has an HDTV tuner built in. This enables the TV set to get over-the-air high definition signals from local networks. HDTV-capable means that the TV set is able to receive high definition signals, but only with the use of an HDTV converter box that is available from the cable or satellite company, or a digital tuner and over-the-air antenna.

Choosing a high definition television can be confusing. When shopping for a new HDTV, do research and understand the product. It is recommended that you shop around and ask lots of questions before purchasing. HDTV set ups can be costly. Larger sets can run in the thousands of dollars just for the television. Most HDTV sets that are available for sale are big screen and they are generally expensive. Smaller-screened televisions with digital capabilities are slated to hit the market in 2007.
The next step in converting to high definition is to acquire a converter box. A converter box usually costs between $5 and $10 per month, or some are available for purchase for several hundred dollars. Many HDTV sets available on the market now have built-in digital tuners that allow you to view the free digital broadcasts of major local networks. Additionally, converter boxes that are compatible with analog televisions can be purchased. These special converter boxes or adapters cost around $100. The picture will be similar to analog, but will be in digital format. The only downfall to this is that if there is a weak digital signal, there could be no picture on the screen at all.
Next, when converting to HDTV, you must make sure that the channel you want to watch is broadcast in high definition. All major networks currently broadcast in both analog and high definition, but not all of their programming is in HDTV. The FCC recently gave networks channels in both analog and high definition with the hopes that networks would also make the switch to all HDTV. Besides the major networks, many of the movie channels also broadcast in high definition. Be aware that not all channels do broadcast in high definition, so if you have favorite channels it is important to call your cable or satellite provider beforehand to see what is and what is not offered.
The last step in converting from traditional analog to high definition is to make sure that the program you want to watch is offered in high definition. Though most networks do broadcast in both analog and high definition, many of them offer only a handful of programs that are in high definition. Some offer professional sporting events such as football, baseball championships and Olympic Games as well as awards shows and special prime time features. Others may offer less programming. These high definition programs will be offered on different channels than the traditional programming. Before making the switch check to see if the shows you like to watch are offered in high definition.
When you are ready to purchase a new HDTV set, there are a few things you should look for before buying. Consider the size of screen you need. When looking at wide-screen televisions, remember that the screen should be a certain distance from the seating area. This will give those watching a better picture resolution. For example, for optimal viewing, a high definition wide-screen that measures 50 inches should be viewed at about 117 inches, or just less than ten feet from the screen.
It is also recommended that before purchasing a new high definition television to look at the features that comes with the set. The remote control may seem trivial, but you are likely to use the remote over and over again. Check it out in the store and see how it feels. See if it seems well made or if the buttons are laid out logically. If you want the buttons to light up, check out that feature. Also, if you like the picture-in-picture feature that allows you to see more than one channel at a time, check to see that the television you want to purchase has that option. Also, make sure that it can be used with high definition broadcasts.

Analog is also for years. TV in black and white in anni’50 e’60, the quality of our video in the 70 and 80, who broke all our branches, to the best analog picture may. And ‘finally time for the digital age, however. If you or someone you know about some more convincing, but look for the ten reasons why everyone should be decided by analogy.

The government told us. Even if the government is to some extent, the obligation of 2007 to change channels for digital television in the country, us. HDTV is considered a real revolution. It ‘s just that the government does nothing, on the contrary, it.

See the difference. Compared to 480 lines of analog image, you can create up to 1080 lines of HDTV and digital programming.

More programs. It may be slow to come, but every day more and more, as well as cable and satellite company added high-definition programs. These include fantastic nature of popular sporting events, movies and more. In many areas, such as the popular ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS provides high-definition versions of their programs.

Towards the integration of media. HDTV technology is not just on WoW with sounds and images. It is so interactive. HDTV set, all in the direction of Media Center in our music, telephone, TV, film and Internet in one system.

Better sound. Has been for analogue television in black and white. Taking the sound quality was not a problem if you have created. The developers were only analogue transmission, it could be. HDTV is just the opposite, because the sound is, as its digital image. Not only is he a great image. It is also designed so that Dolby 5.1 Surround.

Larger visit. With the resolution of HDTV and sound, is also the form with wide-screen technology. This means that not only the image, or which, from bottom to top and shaved of pages, the characteristics of the analog TV.

Choices. With your HDTV-Set, you can simply connect via satellite, cable or over-the-air broadcasts from local stations for HD programs. Although not all channels in high definition format on your TV and offers all possibilities for the optimal number. What is the format chosen, you do not miss this trend.

You have a new antenna. If you live in an urban area, right, or nearby, you can use your HDTV set to get free HD channels over-the-air. You need a tuner or a converter to receive signals from the antenna, but at least you need to connect the cable or satellite.

The best quality. If you watch TV, why not see the image better? Other than to jump right into the image itself, high-definition TV is the best of the best in quality and standard resolution.

720p is the resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Even if some form of HDTV programming is almost as great 1080i (interlaced), the probability that most of the programs you watch 720p (so far). This means that the image is flickering with hundreds of times per second, not shown in a number of rows at a time. The two formats of high definition television is the picture quality, however. Make sure that the term “1080p” as soon as possible.

It ‘s just an investment for your HDTV and driving and set-up, but you pay. See and hear, you believe in an HDTV. The industry is on a fully digital, HDTV and Media Center is at the forefront of change. Everyone was, discs and cassettes to CDs. We also had the trade in Beta VHS and DVD. Now it’s time to dig out our old friend, the analog TV. There may be purchased in all areas of marketing, but nobody can say that can not benefit.

Simply brilliant for the HDTV price-Panasonic TX-P37X10B 37-inch Widescreen HD Ready Plasma TV

For stunning picture quality a plasma TV is the natural choice. Panasonic VIERA plasma TVs are renowned for their outstanding picture performance especially in regards to sporting events, action movies and gaming content.

Best motion picture reproduction

Watching TV is about moving images rather than still images. A still image in high resolution looks brilliant on almost any HD TV, but when the images are moving, you can see a clear quality difference as many TVs have difficulties to display fast moving contents without motion blur.

All Panasonic plasma TVs are equipped with 100Hz technology. This superb technology doubles the output frame rate, meaning the gaps of time between image frames are lessened. The more frames inserted, the smoother the overall imaging will be for the human eye. The 100Hz technology is a major benefit to you as it aids in creating flicker-less moving images.

After much research into LCD v PLASMA I opted for the PLASMA. I wanted 37″ over 32″ and this PLASMA fits the spec perfectly. Screen quality with SD pictures is excellent. I have my trusty Denon HD DVD player hooked up and through HDMI (I am upscaling my SD DVD’s to 720p via the HDMI)the picture quality is very sharp. I don’t own a Blue Ray DVD player and I’m not ready to replace my Denon HD DVD player and all my SD DVD’s just yet! If you have a Blue Ray player then LCD screen maybe the way to go but this TV displays fantastic images with a normal SD input and the DVD quality is awsome!!

Freeview quality is excellent too. Easy setup as you would expect from Panasonic.

Excellent value for money. Also, you can get a 37″ stand on Amazon for around ?50 compared to over a ?100 from other outlets.

I done a good bit of research before I chose this TV, and I am glad I did, as this TV is just brilliant.

Setting the TV up was a piece of cake, it was near enough just plug and play. All I had to do was a little tweaking with the settings to get the picture just the way I wanted. My Xbox 360 graphics look Superb on this TV, so the HD on the TV is excellent.

Found a dead pixel the other day, but only because I was really close to my TV at the time, when watching the TV you never even notice it, so it doesn’t even bother me.

So this TV is a excellent purchase and real value for money.

Having bought the TX-P42G10 over a week ago I am very impressed with the standard definition picture via a Sky box. This is better than the Sony CRT we previously owned and has me wondering whether it is worth upgrading to Sky HD. I haven’t been able to test Freesat as the connection into the standard Sky box does not fit the Freesat connection. Picture via Blue ray is stunning and the sound is better than I expected, having read some other reviews.

The only downside is the constant noise of the fans which can’t be heard when watching action movies but at normal listening levels is distracting. Although it is not loud I am regularly aware of it and had I known this, I may have had second thoughts about buying.

Update:

After running in the TV for a short while, the fans are now much less intrusive and I have been able to connect the sky cable to the Freesat input – the HD quality is first rate

High quality HDTV plasma

High quality HD plasma – amazing price.-Panasonic TH-37PX80B – 37″ Widescreen HD Ready Plasma TV

With its 2008 Panasonic Viera Plasmas, Panasonic brings an astonishing 1,000,000:1 contrast ration to the table. advanced pixel resolution and image-processing technology with the plasma TV’s natural ability to beautifully reproduce fast moving images, so every detail is rendered with amazing clarity, and all the action is delivered with a high degree of fluidity.

What is a Plasma TV? A plasma TV is a thin, high-resolution flat panel screen that uses a matrix of tiny cells that are charged by precise electrical voltages to create a picture. Plasma displays are bright, have a wide colour range, produce deep, true blacks, have a wide viewing angle, and are light enough to be wall-mounted or placed on a stand. Plasmas come in a range of sizes.

I would strongly recommend the TV. Great, vivid colours and bright picture. Viewable at any angle and really sharp picture. Personally I think the sound is fine even though the speakers are behind the TV!

Cons: It’s not fully HD, in fact I think it is the lowest resolution that qualifies as HD (720?). I have a Panasonic DVD recorder and that was one of the reasons I bought a Panasonic TV. However, the remote is not well integrated and only a few (key) functions can be controlled from one remote (unlike the Sony which is excellent).

Great value 32 inch PLASMA HDTV

Well I thought it would be probably be a good bet given that it’s a plasma, but I was pleasantly surprised at just how good it was.

I spent about 5 minutes after getting out the box tweaking the settings a bit to my own tastes to get the colour balance right. (used expert settings and turned down sharpness, and reigned the colour back a bit to avoid the reddish tint on skin tones). There’s plenty of detail but image remains smooth (not soft or overly sharp & artificial). Backgrounds look pretty clean, very little in the way of mosquito noise.

I also noticed the slight greyish colour on whites mentioned in other reviews – although it’s worth pointing out that calibrated white is not actually pure brilliant white as you might expect, it is slightly grey.

The screen burn for me is the biggest issue, however I have only had this set a few days, so a certain amount of screen burn is to be expected in the first few hundred hours, but out of the box – video games are a big no-no, and do not leave it on a DVD menu screen or EPG – even a few minutes will retain the image. Although it’s easily cleared after 5-10 minutes of normal viewing. I’m really hoping this gets better with use.

Also, being picky – the diagonal lines can appear jagged or stripy on the standard settings however, I’m going to have a play and see if there’s a setting to eliminate it.

Connectivity is excellent on a screen this size and price. The Freeview picture is very nice, the EPG is crisp and clear, and still allows you to see some of the picture you’re watching and hear the sound which I much prefer to the way other sets do it that totally cuts the signal while you browse the guide.

As others have also said, this set murders the Panasonic LCDs, and I’ve installed a lot of those screens. However, it’s not quite in the same league as the 42″+ PZ80/85 screens but it’s not all that far behind.

It’s great that a manufacturer has released a Plasma this size, because it finally allows you to get good image quality on a small screen size – you don’t have to put up with LCD! (well at least not for as long as they keep making it!)
