I seemed to be the only person who did not own a flat screen, modern TV. All the TVs in the house are between 10-15 years old and slowly dying. After finding reason after reason to put off purchasing a new TV I saw this Gold Box deal for a Panasonic VIERA S1 Series TC-L32S1 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV for 9.00. I could not believe it. Then I checked Consumer Reports and they had this model ranked 3rd for 32 inch LCDs. I had to order it. It is the perfect size for my bedroom. I removed an old 20″ RCA TV and I could not believe how heavy the thing was. I am thinking of tossing it out the window rather than carrying it down the stairs! (But it has to go to the recycling center so I won’t!)
I am not disappointed at all. I thought the TV was amazing from the start but then I got an HD cable box connected using the HDMI cable and wow! I cannot believe the difference in picture quality. I watched a few hours of the Olympics and it looked fabulous. Events like speed skating and bobsleding that have a lot of motion looked beautiful. I did not notice any blurring on the fast motion scenes. I have watched one Blu-Ray movie and once again I could not believe the crispness of the picture.
I know I have just come out of the dark ages of ‘tube’ televisions but I will plan on replacing the other 2 sets in the house. I wish I had purchased two of them while the deal was on but I am sure Amazon will have another great deal soon.
