This television was a steal from Wal-Mart for 8. I was skeptical about buying this at first because I’ve seen so many HDTVs display standard definition horribly. However, we took the plunge, and after hooking it up, I can say I’m thoroughly impressed. SD looks fine, not blocky and pixelated like I see with most other HDTVs and that’s even with the wide setting applied so that the picture fills up the entire screen.
Also, Xbox 360 games and Blu Ray movies look absolutely gorgeous – it’s like being in a movie theater. We’ve had this TV for just over a week now, and it has transformed everything from gaming to watching movies. The colors and display are spot on! The TV speakers aren’t the greatest, but we run the sound through our home stereo system. My only gripe is that the audio output RCA jacks aren’t variable, but we just a use a universal remote to switch over to our stereo and adjust the volume that way.
IMO, this TV outperforms many other LCDs I’ve seen, Sony and LG included. We don’t need all the bells and whistles – just a great display and with this TV, that’s what we’ve got.
Philips customer service is also superb. Once we unpacked the TV and set it up, we realized the remote didn’t work. A new remote was sent immediately no questions asked, and it arrived within a week. This could’ve been a minor inconvenience, but we had another Philips remote that worked with it.
I highly recommend this TV – it is absolutely the most bang for the buck you’ll find anywhere!

Fast shipping, NO damage, works great, good picture quality, easy to install. Two hooks into the ceiling studs and your done.
It rolls back up fine, but you have to pull on it a few times to get it to go all the way up, thats a manual screen for you.
I watch Avatar on it and the color and detail looked great, no waves in the screen, even picture. This is an extreme value for a first time screen or on a budget and its made from Draper a high quality USA company of screens. You just can’t beat the price. This is not a piece of junk, worth every penny of the 90.00 I paid. I still wan’t to get a bigger Tab tensioned screen, but this is my first screen and just wanted to start out minimal. They packed it well and came with no damage.

Initially I was a bit apprehensive when buying this TV due to never having heard of the brand, but the price paid was well worth the gamble. If there are no long term problems I will be completely happy. The only negative I have is that the remote my satellite service supplies cannot be programmed to control the TV receiver. What the heck!

The arrival (just a few days after ordering it online) was exciting! Delivery men carried the big box into the house, opened it, took the big set (46 inch screen) out and plugged it in to check if it worked. It DID! They left, and I got busy reading the big manual that described the installation and hook-up. My wife and I could lift the big set, and I followed the diagrams in the book, attaching our other Panasonic gear, the disc player and tape players, and home theatre speakers. We turned it on, and it worked! We’ve never seen such a terrific picture, sound and picture control! We have MANY classic tapes and discs, collected over the years, and we watch opera, and classical music presentations often. The Panasonic Viera 46 inch set is a marvelous addition to our home!
